much has happened since my last post! it seems like i haven't had a single second to post. this could be partially due to the fact that i currently don't have internet in my... NEW STUDIO APARTMENT!
yes, i moved. and i'm extremely excited about it.
i was craigslist hunting for weeks for the perfect studio apartment for summer that would be close to the u district, but quieter than my previous residence. i stumbled across an ad for an apartment that i was initially lukewarm about checking out, but decided to go take a look anyway. it turned out that the place is huge for an "efficiency studio." it's actually more like a one bedroom.
it's been a while since i feel like i've had enough space for all of my stuff. and believe me, i have a lot of "stuff." i dormed it up my freshman year of college, which was awesome, but sharing a puny little room with a tiny closet and communal bathrooms was only doable for a year. for the past 2 years i've shared a house with 5 other people, and a room with one other person this year, which has seemed a little cramped at times when your kitchen is like 2 square feet and there's only one refridgerator. i will say, it's been an experience, but for the summer i'm really looking forward to having a little time to myself. i'll post pictures soon after i get the place all decorated and organized :)
sneak peak, it looks kind of like this:

| similar to Oprah's mansion. no biggie. |
anyhow, i had a bit of an awkward situation the other night. i went out to belltown for my best friend alicia's 21st birthday (which was an awesome and quite entertaining night). her boyfriend drove me home and dropped me of at my apartment. important note: this was only the second day that i had been living there. sooo... i walked up to my door and knocked for bryan to let me in (he was staying there for the night to study because it was quiet) but he didn't answer. i knocked again, frustrated, and decided to call him.
me: bryan! i'm at the door, let me in!
bryan: huh? did you knock?
me: yes! i've been knocking!
bryan: lily, i'm standing at your door, wide open, and you're not here.
me: ohhhhhhhh shoot...
i realized:
there is an complex identical to mine 1 building down. i was knocking at my door... at the wrong building. a lady came outside, shushing me due to the fact that it was 2am. i quickly took my leave and walked to my correct building.
i have to wonder what the people inside were thinking. if someone came knocking on my door at 2am i would be freaking out because i'm a wimp and would probably have called the cops. i'm lucky they weren't hostile or i could've been in big trouble.
i automatically assume that anyone knocking at my door at 2am looks similar to this and would probably want to kill me:

| sidenote: this is actually one of my friends, but he looks very scary and 40 in this picture. |
good to know i guess that there's an identical apartment complex to mine. hopefully i won't make that mistake again!
